PetAmigo started with a missed medication.
A friend of ours went away for a long weekend. The neighbor — someone the dog adored — agreed to cover the feeds and the evening pill. The instructions lived in a WhatsApp thread, four days long by the time the weekend arrived, between a photo of someone's dinner and a voice note about parking. The pill got missed twice. Nothing bad happened. But nothing bad happening was luck, not a system.
The problem was never the people
Look at how pet care actually gets coordinated and you find the same picture everywhere: group chats, paper notes, a spreadsheet that one person maintains and nobody else trusts. The people trying hard. The tools failing them.
Chat is a great place to talk and a terrible place to coordinate. The feeding schedule isn't findable at 7am. The calendar doesn't exist, so dates live in conversation. Updates reach whoever happens to be in the thread. None of this is a discipline problem. It's a tooling problem.
The other side of the leash
Talking to professional sitters, groomers, and walkers surfaced a second version of the same problem, with a twist: they were paying for software that made the client relationship worse. Portals clients wouldn't adopt. Updates sent from the software's phone number instead of the sitter's. Per-seat bills that jumped at every hire.
The industry's pricing pages showed floors, not prices — and the per-seat model taxed the exact moment a business did something right: growing.
The bet we made
So we built PetAmigo around two ideas that fit together:
One shared object — the pet profile. The same profile that helps a pet owner coordinate care with their neighbor helps a professional sitter run a business. Feeding, meds, vet contacts, quirks, visit logs. One place, visible to everyone who's actually involved in the animal's care.
Two products, one loop. For pet owners, Circles are free — coordinate with the people you already trust. For professionals, plans start at $19/month flat, no per-client fees, and every client you invite gets a free Circle that doubles as their portal. The free product makes the paid product better, in both directions.
And the pricing is flat — $19 solo, $49 for a team of 3 — because we think a software bill should never be the reason you hesitate to hire.
What we're building toward
The near-term roadmap is unglamorous on purpose: scheduling that never double-books, visit logs that reach everyone, invoices that go out same-day, reminders that send themselves. Plumbing over dashboards.
If that sounds like the tool you've been assembling out of five apps, come see it. And if you just want to hand a sitter something better than a WhatsApp thread this weekend, start with the free pet care card — no account, nothing uploaded, printable in five minutes.
